Wings to buy, not to find
On our server minicopters do not spawn on the map: you buy them from the Air Wolf vendor at Bandit Camp. But at the start of the wipe there is a job to do first.
In short
- At the start of the wipe the Air Wolf helipad is broken.
- Until someone repairs it, it sells nothing.
- Once repaired, it stays open for everyone until the wipe.
First: repair the helipad
Since Rust's October 2026 update, at every wipe the Air Wolf helipad at Bandit Camp starts destroyed, and while it stays that way the vendor sells no flying vehicles, to anyone.
It is repaired like siege weapons: take the hammer and hit the helipad, and the materials go from your inventory into the construction. It is a team effort, actually a server effort: anyone can contribute, and once it is finished the helipad stays repaired for the whole wipe, even for those who did not put in a single fragment.
Then: buy the minicopter
Once the helipad is repaired, find the Air Wolf vendor and buy the minicopter with scrap. Flying costs, but no more running around to find the last helicopter left on the map. If Air Wolf sells you nothing, look at the helipad: it is probably still unfinished.
