The TC pays, you save
Decay works as in vanilla Rust: if the TC has resources, the base stays up. The difference is that here upkeep costs half.
In short
- Upkeep at 50% of the vanilla cost, high external walls included.
- Full TC = base safe from decay.
- Empty TC = the base starts to crumble, as in vanilla.
How it works
Every base uses up a share of the materials it is built from every day: wood, stone, metal, HQM. The TC takes this upkeep from the resources you put in it. As long as it pays, there is no decay. When it runs empty, blocks start losing health.
On our server the cost is halved compared to vanilla Rust for every block, door and high external wall. The usual rules apply: the bigger the base, the more it costs, and the cost also grows a little with the number of authorised players.
Practical tips
- Open the TC: at the top you see how long your resources will cover the base. Keep it covering at least a few days, especially before you log off for a while.
- Put a bit of every material of the base in the TC: without HQM, HQM blocks decay even if you have tonnes of stone.
- The TC is used up while you are online too: that is normal, it is the upkeep.
